Research Support Services

To facilitate scientific progress, City of Hope provides investigators and their laboratory teams access to sophisticated support services and state-of-the-art equipment through many of our core facilities.

Among our shared resources are the laboratories of our nationally acclaimed Center for Biomedicine & Genetics and our Center for Applied Technologies, which offer the technical, analytical and regulatory expertise to rapidly manufacture biological therapeutics in quantity for use in clinical trials.

In addition, we provide free and open access to the Graff Medical and Scientific Library, which houses an extensive compilation of biomedical databases, journals, tutorials, ebooks and more.

Center for Applied Technology Development
To help bring new discoveries and developments to market, the Sylvia R. and Isador A. Deutch Center for Applied Technology Development provides both internal and external entities licensing services and patent documentation.

Center for Biomedicine & Genetics
Our Center for Biomedicine & Genetics manufactures promising new genetic and cellular agents created by researches for use in clinical trials. We are uniquely equipped to evaluate therapies swiftly and move lifesaving drugs into the marketplace with great speed.

Information Sciences
The Department of Information Sciences (DIS) collaborates in numerous facets of both clinical and basic science research throughout the Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, including study design, data modeling, and computational analysis.

Office of New Research Initiatives

The Office of New Research Initiatives, directed by Arlene Y. Chiu, Ph.D., aims to identify funding opportunities and promote collaborations for biomedical research. Its goal is to help City of Hope faculty strategize and target their applications to increase their chances for success.

Shared Resources
City of Hope and Beckman Research Institute have developed Shared Resources where a perceived need exists for specialized equipment, services, or expert consultation. Shared Resources with specialized instrumentation, and the expertise to apply these resources to research, have become increasingly important in recent years. Many of City of Hope's research support services are funded by the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG).
